Privacy Policy

This is a translation of the Japanese Privacy Policy. If the two differ, the Japanese version applies.
The operator of Jigen (the "Site") handles information about people who use the Site as follows.
1. How input is handled
The hourly wage and amounts you enter on the Site, and the time measured, are processed only inside your browser. They are not sent to the operator's server, and the operator does not receive them. By default, the wage and amounts you enter, and the language you choose, are saved inside the browser on your device (localStorage) and shown the next time you open the Site. You can turn "Save my input" off at any time in "Cookie settings", and doing so deletes the saved input. The Site does not ask for personal information such as your name or email address. There is no account registration.
2. Advertising
The Site uses a third-party ad service, "Google AdSense". Ads appear on the explanation and calculator pages. For ad delivery, the following applies.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's past visits to the Site or other sites.
- By using advertising cookies, Google and its partners can show users ads based on their visits to the Site and other sites.
- Users can turn off personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. They can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
- Google's handling of information follows Google's advertising policies.
Google AdSense ads are not shown on the Privacy Policy page or on the app's front page (the front page shows an affiliate product card in Japanese only).
The Site may contain affiliate advertising links, such as Rakuten Affiliate. If a product or service is bought or applied for through a link, the operator may be paid a commission. Such links are marked "PR". The linked services may use cookies and similar technology under each company's own privacy policy. For links and images that use the affiliate service A8.net, A8.net may load images and use cookies to measure results. If you turn off Ads, the measurement image is not loaded.
As an Amazon Associate, Jigen (時現) earns from qualifying purchases.
3. Cookies and storage on your device
The Site uses cookies and storage inside the browser (localStorage) for the purposes below. A notice appears when you first open the Site, and everything is on by default. You can turn them off at any time by choosing "Essential only" or from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
- Essential: remembers the choices you make here. It cannot be turned off. It is stored only inside the browser on your device.
- Save my input: keeps the wage and amounts you entered, your language and your sound setting, for your next visit. It is stored only inside the browser on your device and is not sent to the operator or any third party. It is on by default and can be turned off in "Cookie settings".
- Ads: Google AdSense, and affiliate ads such as Amazon Associates and A8.net. On by default. If you turn it off, non-personalized ads are requested. Google may still use cookies to show ads and prevent fraud. Changes apply from the next time you open a page.
- Analytics: counts which pages are viewed and how often, using Google Analytics (Google LLC). On by default; it uses cookies and sends information such as page views to Google. You can turn it off at any time in "Cookie settings". No personally identifying information is collected.
4. Analytics
To understand usage and improve the Site, it uses Google Analytics 4. Measurement is on by default. The information collected includes the pages viewed, the time of viewing, the approximate region, and the type of device and browser. The wage and amounts you enter are not sent. Google's handling of information follows Google's privacy policy. To stop measurement, choose "Essential only" in the notice when you first open the Site, or turn Analytics off later in "Cookie settings".
The Site is hosted on Netlify. Server-side access logs (such as IP addresses) are handled by Netlify under its own privacy statement. The operator does not obtain or view those logs.
5. Disclaimer
- The amounts shown on the Site are rough figures based on the hourly wage you enter. They do not account for taxes, social insurance, premium pay and so on, and do not guarantee actual pay.
- The operator is not responsible for any damage arising from the use of the Site.
- The operator is not responsible for the content of external sites linked from the Site, or for how information is handled there.
- The operator may change, suspend or end the Site without prior notice.
6. Changes to this policy
This document may be revised when laws change or when features are added to the Site (such as ads or analytics). When it is revised, the date on this page is updated.
